Kanchanjunga trek is one of the unspoiled trekking trails in eastern part of Nepal opened in 1988 for trekkers. Mt. Kanchenjunga 8598m lies on the border of Nepal and Sikkim. Mt. Kanchenjunga, one of the world's most spectacular mountains, is renowned as the queen of mountains. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak on the planet, can show off varied ecological zones, from the subtropical land to hostile wilderness.

Mt. Kanchenjunga is a massif with its highest peak reaching 8,586metres and is encircled with dozens of peaks, each of them competing with their queen. Kanchanjunga trekking is very rich from the point of view of its natural beauty. Kanchanjunga trek offers infinite variety of landscapes, cultures and panoramic views of Himalayas including the Everest, Lhotse, Makalu & Kanchenjunga, four of the worlds five highest mountains make the trek rewarding.

Trekking in Kanchenjunga is relatively strenuous since the region is regarded as the most remote place of Nepal. However the presence of numerous wild animals, birds and flora in abundance make the trekking in this region very interesting and pleasant.

Trip Highlights

Kathmandu valley sightseeing by experienced tour guide,Monasteries Chortens temples and prayer walls, Unique Himalayan Culture,Kanchenjunga North & South Base camp, Great rhododendron forests, lovely villages, interaction with local people.

Day to day Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Hotel De’L Annapurna.

Day 02: Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple , Boudhanath Stupa & Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at Hotel De’L Annapurna.

Day 03 Drive from Kathmandu to Bassantpur (1900m)

Day 04 Trek through mossy Rhododendron forests eventually leading to Chauki (2700m) .

Day 05 Receive your first views of various peaks including Kanchenjunga. Over night in Gupa Pokhari.

Day 06 Continue ascending early, through interesting forests. Camp the night by the river at Dovan.

Day 07 Most of the day you follow the river up the Tamur Valley through rocky fields up to Mitlung.

Day 08 Cross the river and continue up, the path narrows, you eventually reach the village of Chirwa.

Day 09 Trek up the Gunsa Khola valley. Riverside camp near the Tibetan village of Sakathum.

Day 10 Enter an arid landscape and follow a hairy trail up to a crest. Descend slightly to Amjilessa

Day 11 Forests of bamboo, oak & rhododendron, waterfalls, pastures, and great views up to Kyapra.

Day 12 Descend steeply into the side of a ravine, trek along the river to yak pastures and up to Gunsa.

Day 13 Acclimatisation day - Gunsa. Trek to the lake at the Yamatari Glacier.

Day 14 Tackle the unstable slopes leading up to the Tibetan settlement of Kambachen (4,040m).

Day 15 Acclimatisation Day Kambachen. There are a number of day hikes to help acclimatise.

Day 16 The trail is rocky then crosses moraines. Camp at Lhonak, the views prevail from all directions.

Day 17 Trek up to the base camp of Pang Pema (5,140m) Watch the sunset over Kanchenjunga.

Day 18 Hike up the ridge early. The panorama is spectacular, Kambachen overnight

Day 19 Kambachen to Gunsa

Day 20 Today you trek along a trail that is difficult to distinguish. Camp at Tseram, a large flat meadow.

Day 21 Walk along the moraine of the Yalung glacier. The valley opens up, camp at Ramche (4,420m). .

Day 22 Day trip to Yalung Glacier

Day 23 Start the you descent today taking a different route to Chirwa

Day 24 Chirwa to Anpan (2250m)

Day 25 Anpan to Pokari (1,700m)

Day 26 Pokhari to Taplajung (2,350m)

Day 27 Fly back to Biratnager and take a flight back to Kathmandu. Hotel checks in Hotel.

Day 28: Free day in Kathmandu. Over night at Hotel.

Day 29: Home Departure

Trip Cost: USD 3000.00 Per Person ( Minimum Group Size 02)

Cost Include During the trip

1. Airport / Hotel / Airport pick up & drop off by car / Van / Bus.
2. 4 nights’ accommodation with breakfast at deluxe hotel in Kathmandu.
3. 1 nights’ accommodation in Pokhara (inclusive of Government taxes, breakfast, lunch & dinner).
4. Guided city tour in Kathmandu valley as per above program.
5. An experience Guide (trained by Ministry of tourism), required number of porters, their food, accommodation, salary, insurance, equipments.
6. All surface transfer to and from Kathmandu by bus/Plane as per above itinerary.
7. Full board meal (veg. / non veg.) prepared by our expert cook.
8. Trekking equipment (two men tent, dining tent, kitchen tent, Table with chairs, kitchen utensils, Down sleeping bag / Jackets, walking sticks, and other necessary equipments during the trek).
9. Kanchenjunga Trekking Permit fee, and all necessary documents.
10. Tourist service charge, Vat.

Cost Does not Include During The Trip

1. Meals whilst in Kathmandu allow US$ 10 - US$ 12 per meal.
2. Travel insurance (if you want us to arrange your travel insurance, we would greatly be happy to assist).
3. International air fare to and from Nepal.
4. Nepal entry visa fee US$ 30 (duration 60 days from date of issue)- you may easily issue the visa upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport - Kathmandu.
5. International Airport Tax in Nepal - approx. US$ 24.
6. Items of a personal nature
7. Any kind of alcoholic drinks, hot water, hot shower, cold drinks, laundry, phone call and internet.
