Everest Base Camp Trekking

Everest Base Camp trek Nepal is most commonly visited in two weeks starting from and ending at Lukla, a small tiny aircraft at the south of the region considered as the gateway to Mt Everest. Everest Base Camp hike begins from Lukla followed by Dudh Koshi Valley River to Namche via Phakding and Manzo that place are very popular stopover for the first day. Just beyond Manzo trekkers enter the Sagarmatha nation park at Jorsale. From Namche bazaar the trail to Base Camp is follows the valley of the Imja Khola (River) Overlooking the spectacular views of Amadablam, Kentenga, Thamserku, Lhotse, Nupste & glimpse of Mt. Everest etc. After the two nights at Namche bazaar the Everest Base Camp Trekkers commonly spend another night at Tengbuche on the top of a steep climb from the Imja Khola.

In Tengbuche one of the most popular Buddhist monastery is situated, the continue follows the Imja river from Tengbuche after little descend to debouche about 15 minutes then trail ascends through Pangboche reaching the next day’s stopover either at Pheriche or Dingboche . Here is another acclimatization days should be taken with fascinating hiking trips to Chhukung RI via Chhukung valley about five hours from Dingboche.

From Dingboche it takes about another five house to reach Lobuche situated on the lateral moraine of the Khumbu glacier. About three hours from here is the last settlements on the trail to Everest base camp known as Gorakshep, above from here rises the well known landmark of Kalapatthar where you be enthralled with the spectacular views of the top of the world Mt. Everest. The thrust running from the Mt. Pumori provides an incredible overview the Khumbu glacier cascading down bellow, the broad snout of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nupste a wedding cake fantasy of swirling snow and ice. Setting up here, watching distant avalanches dropping clouds of Powderly snow, you fell on the top of the world.

Everest base camp hike along the on the glacier of your dream to be Mt. Everest base camp can take up to six hours. Care should be taken while traveling this part as route finding can be a bit problem and there is always the risk of falls on the ice.

Day to day Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu.
You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Trek Preparation & Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour.
Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple , Boudhanath Stupa & Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Kathmandu (1310m) - Lukla (2827m) - Phakding (2652m) 3 hours.
Early morning transfer to airport for flight to Lukla. The flight into Lukla is a lifetime experience, in itself. The airfield is on an evaluation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about 60 meters! When we get Lukla then have cup of coffee at Khumbu resort, (Remember this building we have to stay overnight for fly out to Kathmandu after finished our trip) After the nice hot drink our adventure starts along the Dudh Kosi River to the village of Phakding 2800m with green landscape & view of Kusum kangraru. Overnight at guest house.
Day 4: Phakding - Namche Bazar (3440m) 6 hours
The trail continues north up the Dudh Kosi valley with brilliant views of Thamserku & Kusum kangraru to the Munzo, just beyond the Munzo you will see huge building of Sagarmatha National Park Entrance Gate, where trekking permits are checked and National Park fees collected then trek down & cross the Jorsale Bridge a trail Continue along the Dudh Kosi River after two more brides begins the steep climb up to Namche Bazaar 3441m. Overnight at guest house.
Day 5: Acclimatization day in Namche bazaar – Hike to Everest view hotel (3900m) 3-4 hours.
This is a day for acclimatization. We will take you the shyangbuche airport 3700m. it is suppose to height airport in the world. Then continue slightly climbing to Everest view hotel where you can observe including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache & many more. After the brilliant view of those mountains, we trek down to Namche & we will take a Sherpa museum. There you can see the traditional custom of Sherpa peoples & Mt. Everest photo Gallery. Day 6: Namche - Tengbuche (3860m) 5 hours
The trail leads flat & easy towards the view of Mt. Everest & other mountains up to Kyangjuma about 1-1.30 hours then have cup of tea and descends deep into the Dudh Kosi Valley at Pungki Thanka. The trail then ascends the right flank of the Dudh Kosi valley to Tengbuche at 3860m. Overnight at guest hose.
Day 7: Tengbuche - Dingboche (4410m) 5 hours
Descend through a beautiful forest then cross the Imja Khola and trek through the village of Pangboche. (3900m perhaps today is most interesting trekking because you will not lose altitude while trekking like other days & enjoying the view of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse & other smaller peaks, will be just in front of those mountains & feel like been heaven, The route continues through summer pastures to Dingboche as know as summer valley 4,400 m. Day 8: Day trip to Chhukung RI & trek back to Dingboche (5546 mtrs) 7 hours
Today you can enjoy another acclimatization day. This day we will have a day trip to Chhukung Ri 5546m The views from Chukkung is wonderful, also we can observe a fifth highest mountain Makalu. Then descend to Chhukung for Lunch & continue down to Dingboche. Overnight at Guest House.
Day 9: Chhukung - Lobuche (4910m) 5 hours
Trek along a broad valley floor to Dughla, is leaving behind the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche 4240 m. A western volunteer doctor, supported by The Himalayan Rescue Association is stationed here and offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. Continue up the valley-gaining altitude. Come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures at Lobuche 4910m.Overnight at guest house. B.L.D
Day 10: Lobuche - Gorakshep (5180m) 3 hours
After a short climb through meadows, look down on the Khumbu Glacier. Straight-ahead is Kalapatthar - the best vantage point to view the entire south face of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks. Trek to Gorakshep and prepare for tomorrow's Everest Base Camp Expedition 5400 meters. Overnight at guest hose.
Day 11: Gorakshep (5180m) - Everest base camp (5400m) – Gorakshep (5180m) 7 hours
About 9 o’clock starts your Everest Base camp expedition though on the rocky trail. It is not much elevation different but there is lots of up & down it makes your body very very tiring but do not harass, this is your dream since you were very young. Approximately 3 hrs of hiking you will have been Everest Base Camp 5400m. Enjoy the view of Khumbu glacier & Khumbu icefall where the Everest Expedition starts. And trek back to Gorakshep. Day12: Hiking to Kalapatthar (5545mtrs.)- Gorakshep- Pheriche (4210m) 7 hours.
About 5 o’clock in the morning, the day starts with a hike up to Kalapatthar (5545 mtrs.), an excellent viewpoint to observe the Mount. Everest and innumerable spectacular mountains views. Then trek back to Gorakshep for hot breakfast & trek descend to Pheriche (4210m). Overnight at Guest House.
Day13: Pheriche - Khumjung (3900m) 6 hours
Easy walk along the Imja Khola, then a short climb up to the Tengbuche Monastery. The trail descends steeply towards Pungki Thanka and another steep climb Khumjung. The Khumjung (As know as Sherpa village) is the famous for observe the Yeti scalp, Hillary foundation school & Khunde hospital. Overnight at guest house.
Day14: Khumjung – Jorsale (2740m) 6 hours
The trail accent slightly to the Shyangbuche airport & trek descends to Namche Bazar 3440m. After the relaxing of tea, coffee or lunch the trail descents continue deeply to the Jorsale. Overnight at Guest house.
Day15: Jorsale - Lukla (2800m) 5 hours
The trek continue along the Dudh Kosi river to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla to catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at Khumbu resort.
Day 16: Lukla - Kathmandu (1310m)
30 minutes scenic fly back to Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel.
Day 17: Final Departure from Nepal to your onward destination. “Farewell”
